It’s a beautiful weekend, with clear skies and highs in the 70’s and 80’s. If you’re not atoning for your sins (Yom Kippur), find some way to get out of the house. The photo above is from Upper West Sider Amy Aglar.
If you do one thing outside this weekend…
At 1 p.m. on Saturdary, Riverside Park’s Hippo Playground (at 91st Street) is hosting a pumpkin carving demonstration. The pumpkins will be raffled off. There’s a also a Groupon for Ghost Tours of New York.
If you do one thing inside this weekend…
There are tons of films worth seeing this weekend, from the New York Film Festival to a Silent Clown film series at the NY Public Library for the Performing Arts, to the Sunday films at Symphony Space, including a documentary that follows soldiers to Afghanistan and back called Where Soldiers Come From.
For more great local events, check out our weekly calendar.
If you’re traveling…
Check traffic info at traffic.com for delays. As for the subway, the MTA has a map detailing all of the weekend changes, but it looks like there are no service interruptions on the Upper West Side.
