JACUZZI WATER RAINS DOWN ON UPPER WEST SIDE AUDIENCE WATCHING “THE IDES OF MARCH”

The people watching a Sunday afternoon showing of The Ides of March at the AMC Loews in Lincoln Square (68th Street) got a little more excitement than they paid for when water started streaming out of the ceiling onto their heads. The sudden downpour stopped the film after only about 30 minutes. “It really looked like it was raining, especially with the projector light going right through it,” audience member David Cole wrote to West Side Rag in an email.

It turns out that the water came from the Reebok Sports Club above the theater, a movie theater employee told me. In fact, the water came from a jacuzzi that has leaked water down on moviegoers before, said Steve, a manager at Reebok. The health club had used grout to fix the jacuzzi when it first happened a few months ago, but it looks like the fix didn’t work. “We’re looking at it again,” said Steve.

The crowd got their money back plus the people hit by the water got more free tickets.

Jacuzzi water raining down on your head while you watch George Clooney compromise his morals?!? Who says nothing kinky happens on the Upper West Side?
