Bettola, an Italian restaurant at 412 Amsterdam Avenue near 80th Street, was closed down by the Health Department a couple of days ago because inspectors found live roaches and flies in the restaurant, a week after finding evidence of mice and all sorts of other sanitary violations.
The restaurant is widely considered to be “eh.”
Wrote one reviewer: “As my boyfriend says, ‘It didn’t blow my skirt up.'”
