Kick off Super Bowl Sunday by making the smartest play of the day: investing in your health. Before the watch parties, the snacks, and the kickoff countdown begin, the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan invites you to start the day strong at its Winter Fitness Open House, a free, high-energy celebration of movement, motivation, and community.

This feel-good fitness event is your pre-game warm-up. Doors open with a coffee mix & mingle, and a powerhouse keynote from Dr. Jordan Metzl of the Hospital for Special Surgery, who brings championship-level insight on staying strong, active, and motivated at any age. Think of it as the locker-room speech you didn’t know you needed.

From there, you can run your own playbook. Dance, stretch, strengthen, and sweat with a wide lineup of classes including Pilates, yoga for health, Tai Chi, Balance and Bones, Fall Stop Move Strong fall-prevention, and cardio basics. Want a little flair? Take it to the end zone with Nia dance or salsa. Many sessions are also available virtually, so you can call an audible and join from home.

Throughout the day Five Lights Center of Shiatsu will be giving free massages, and the Manischewitz food truck will be parked outside on 76th street for a quick nosh. The membership team will be on hand to give tours and offer special discounts. Don’t want to wait, learn about the JCC’s current membership promotions.

The day wraps with authors Gila Pfeffer and Rebecca Bloom for a humorous, engaging, and empowering conversation about prevention, genetics, and self-care. Closing event sponsor, JScreen will be on hand to discuss at-home genetic testing.

Bring a friend and join the fun. Sign up now to save your spot!

Our primary goal is to create a safe and respectful space where a broad spectrum of voices can be heard. We welcome diverse viewpoints and encourage readers to engage critically with one another’s ideas, but never at the expense of civility. Disagreement is expected—even encouraged—but it must be expressed with care and consideration. Comments that take cheap shots, escalate conflict, or veer into ideological warfare detract from the constructive spirit we aim to cultivate.
