Bond Vet Will Open New Pet Urgent Care Spot, With Covid-Related Restrictions

One of the last times we posted an Openings & Closings was on March 3rd. Lululemon was opening on 115th Street and Fine & Shapiro was closing on 72nd Street, to the dismay of pastrami lovers everywhere. Since then there’s been a domino-like effect with non-essential businesses — and even some essential ones — shuttering one after the next. So, we are happy to report a new opening.

Bond Vet, an urgent and wellness care clinic for pets, will open on Monday, April 20th, on Amsterdam Avenue and West 77th Street.

“We’re lucky in that our UWS clinic construction was already well underway when NY was put on PAUSE,” wrote Bond Vet spokesperson Lauren Drell in an email to WSR. “We had planned to open by May, and while many businesses have halted expansion efforts during this time, we had made enough progress to forge ahead on an expedited timeline. With leaner staff running our 2 clinics in Cobble Hill and the UES, this 3rd clinic will provide more working hours for our team and expand our customer base.”

“We’re open regular hours — 12 p.m to 10 p.m. – through the COVID-19 crisis,” Drell added. “But in following government guidelines, we are only able to see urgent care cases at this time and all exams are now drop-off. Drop-off visits are certainly not ideal or “normal,” but our (current) clients are incredibly understanding of our desire to limit traffic and exposure within the clinic.”

Speaking of openings, the Au Jus at Broadway and 99th opened a couple weeks ago. Cash-only until they get credit card handling set up. Sandwich prices seem a bit pricey, but that’s just me.

I ordered from Au Jus last week and they did take my VISA card as payment. The food was delicious.

Closings: Upper Westside Chiropractic appears to be permanently closed, according to their website. Shame, it was a very good practice and conveniently located above Fairway.
