A special weekend of architectural tours known as Open House New York is this weekend, and three Upper West Side churches will host special tours.

St. Paul and St. Andrew Methodist Church on 86th street and West End Avenue will hold tours every 15 minutes starting at at 1;15 p.m. on Saturday. “Skip Boling, the architect who did our major renovation of the lower level/WSCAH space several years back, will be with us for the tours,” says Elizabeth Jensen of the church. More here.

The Cathedral of St. John the Divine on 112th and Amsterdam will hold tours on both Saturday and Sunday. More here.

First Church of Christ, Scientist will hold tours on Saturday and Sunday. “Discover this Beaux Arts church and its white marble and granite facade, green copper dome (42 feet in diameter and 100 feet high), grand entrance doors, and glorious interior.” More here.

Please limit comments to 150 words and keep them civil and relevant to the article at hand. Comments are closed after six days. Our primary goal is to create a safe and respectful space where a broad spectrum of voices can be heard. We welcome diverse viewpoints and encourage readers to engage critically with one another’s ideas, but never at the expense of civility. Disagreement is expected—even encouraged—but it must be expressed with care and consideration. Comments that take cheap shots, escalate conflict, or veer into ideological warfare detract from the constructive spirit we aim to cultivate.
