SKIP THE JUJYFRUITS: UWS MOVIEGOERS CAN NOW EAT PARMESAN-TRUFFLE POPCORN

A new cafe just opened in Lincoln Center’s Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center, and it could change your feelings about movie theater food forever. Instead of the usual butter-drenched popcorn and soda, the cafe will serve a full breakfast, lunch and dinner menu, as well as all sorts of artisanal concessions to snack on in the theater. Jason Denton, the restaurateur behind ‘ino, ‘inoteca, and Betto will run the new cafe, located at 144 W. 65th Street. As the Film Society of Lincoln Center describes it:

“The daily selection of rotating Proteins (served with choice of one side or half salad and one sauce) includes House-Smoked Trout; House Roasted Organic Turkey Breast; Pork Belly; Heritage Bacon; and more. Sides, such as Greek-Style Fingerling Potato Salad, Roasted Asparagus, Romanesco and Almonds, Spicy Sicilian-Style Cauliflower, and more will accompany a variety of ever changing sauces.”

When you’re ready to go into the theater, you can buy an organic hotdog with pickled green tomato relish; there’s also popcorn but not the standard kind: you can choose from “butter and sea salt, parmesan-black truffle, Chile-lime, and salted caramel.”

Check out the breakfast, concessions and cafe menus, via nymag.com.

Our primary goal is to create a safe and respectful space where a broad spectrum of voices can be heard. We welcome diverse viewpoints and encourage readers to engage critically with one another’s ideas, but never at the expense of civility. Disagreement is expected—even encouraged—but it must be expressed with care and consideration. Comments that take cheap shots, escalate conflict, or veer into ideological warfare detract from the constructive spirit we aim to cultivate.
