A water main break on 106th Street and Central Park West flooded the A,B,C,D subway line today as far North as 125th Street (pictured above), making the commute very hairy this afternoon. Around 11 a.m., a 100-year-old water line busted, sending an 8-foot wave of water through the 110th Street subway station, an emergency worker told DNAinfo. DNAinfo’s David Torres took the video below:
The A, B, C and D will all be shut down through rush hour, the MTA says, so take the numbered lines. Buses are also being rerouted. Per the MTA:
“Customers using A, B, C and D train service should expect severe service disruptions due to a water main break in the vicinity of 110th Street and Central Park West. Both B and C trains are suspended from end to end. A train service is suspended between West 145th Street and Columbus Circle and D trains are not running between 161st Street, in the Bronx and either Pacific Street, Brooklyn or West Fourth Street in Manhattan.”

Wow, now I understand why my tap water was running brown. Very yucky! TX for letting us know; you’ve saved me a surprise when I leave for my appointment downtown tonight.
