NEW H&M OPENS, ICE-SCULPTING FESTIVAL AT TIME WARNER CENTER ON THURSDAY

An H&M will open on the second floor of the Time Warner Center tomorrow morning with a series of giveaways, the company said on its Facebook page. We heard inklings about the store almost a year ago.

“For the grand opening, the first 500 shoppers in line will receive an H&M Access to Fashion Pass valued from $10 – $500.”

The Facebook page, unfortunately, says that the store opens both at 8 a.m. and at noon. If you want to be one of the first 500 people, you’ll probably have to assume that the real opening time is 8 a.m.

Also on Thursday, an “Icefest” will be happening at the Time Warner Center, and will continue through Sunday:

“The inaugural IceFest on the Circle is like nothing you’ve ever seen: It features five eight-foot-tall whimsical statues being sculpted live! Along with the incredible main event, there’ll be entertainment, food and beverages inspired by the season and infused with Canadian ingredients all weekend long. It’s the perfect holiday outing for kids, out-of-town guests and friends!

IceFest on the Circle is produced in partnership with Ottawa Tourism and Ontario Canada Tourism. The event features ice sculptors and entertainment direct from Winterlude, Ottawa’s annual winter celebration that welcomes nearly 700,000 people and is heralded as one of Canada’s most remarkable tourist experiences. IceFest on the Circle visitors will also have a chance to win a trip to Ottawa for Winterlude 2013…

Join us for exclusive second line-style brass band parade performances on Thursday, November 15th at 5:15pm & 7:15pm, and Saturday, November 17th at 12:30pm & 1:30pm, when Jazz at Lincoln Center presents Jon-Erik Kellso leading a New Orleans-style second line through Columbus Circle and into Time Warner Center.”
