A firefighter was injured in a residential building fire Monday morning on the Upper West Side, an FDNY spokesperson told West Side Rag.
The blaze broke out around 8:45 a.m. within an apartment on the 10th floor of 609 Columbus Avenue, between West 89th and 90th streets, the spokesperson said.
The fire was under control by 9:35 a.m., after 120 firefighters and EMS personnel responded to the scene, FDNY said.
One of those responding firefighters was taken to a neighborhood hospital with minor injuries, according to the spokesperson.
The building at 609 Columbus Avenue is also known as Turin House, and is 19 stories tall. It is unclear how the fire began on Monday. The Fire Marshall will determine the cause of the blaze.
