On Monday, April 13, The Center at West Park will present its spring benefit: a staged reading of Broadcast News starring Josh Charles, Matt Dillon, Marisa Tomei, and more renowned artists.
Originally released in theaters in 1987, Broadcast News follows ambitious news producer Jane, caught between professional integrity and personal desire as she navigates a love triangle between her best friend and fellow reporter Aaron and charming new anchor Tom.
This one-night-only event will take place at The Sanctuary at St. Paul & St. Andrew (263 W 86th Street) on Monday, April 13 at 7pm. The reading is directed by Tony-nominee Sheryl Kaller, and also features performances by Charles Everett, Ilana Levine, Michael Mastro, Marc Shaiman, Christine Taylor, and NYC Public Advocate Jumaane D. Williams. The reading will be followed by an audience talkback with the cast led by 12-time Emmy Award winning host of “On Stage”on Spectrum News NY1, Frank DiLella.
Tickets, including the pay-what-you-can options, are available at centeratwestpark.org/broadcast-news or this direct link.
Proceeds from the event support The Center at West Park’s mission to provide community and arts & culture programming that advances affordability, accessibility, inclusivity, and diversity with no economic barriers to participation. Proceeds also support efforts to preserve the Landmark West Park Presbyterian Church on Manhattan’s Upper West Side and its seven unique community spaces under one roof.
