“Lotty Rosenfeld: Disobedient Spaces” at Columbia’s Wallach Art Gallery: 615 West 129th Street, (between Broadway and Riverside), 6th Floor; Wednesday through Sunday from 12 to 6 p.m. Free
One of the best-known feminist artists of the 20th century in Latin America, Rosenfeld, who was Chilean, worked principally in video, site-specific installations and printmaking. She was interested in political gestures that responded to the militarization of everyday life and market economies. The exhibition, which opens today, features installations, video projections, archival documents, prints and photographs spanning from 1970 to 2019. Rosenfeld died in 2020. This is the first solo retrospective of the artist’s work in the U.S.
“Wall-to-Wall Stevie Wonder” at Symphony Space: 2537 Broadway (at West 95th Street), Saturday from 2 to 10 p.m. Free
This annual marathon returns with a joyful, all-day tribute to the legendary American singer, songwriter, musician and producer, who has 25 Grammy awards and piles of other prizes. Music, dance, conversation, and more are on the program – all inspired by Wonder’s extraordinary legacy. Explore his roots in gospel, or be reminded of his social activism. Stick around or show up around 8 p.m for a jazz program and performance of Wonder’s chart-toppers, followed by a DJ set featuring Stevie-inspired mixes.
Make & Donate Cookies & Pies for Thanksgiving: St. Paul & St. Andrew United Methodist Church, 263 West 86th Street; Sunday from 12:30 to 5 p.m.
Thanksgiving is right around the corner! If you’re looking for an act of service to emphasize the “giving” part of the holiday, the Goddard Riverside Community Thanksgiving Dinner is relying on donors for 10,000 cookies and a slew of pies. Email charlenefloyd@aol.com if you’d like to help make pies this Sunday on site. There’ll be apple chopping, crust rolling, box building and more. You can also make a “cookie pledge” – a promise to bake a few dozen cookies at home and bring them to the church in time for the Community Thanksgiving Dinner. The cookie pledge form is here.

The UWS has many interesting wine shops, all of which host wine tastings a few times a week. It would be nice to see those featured in this section of the site. I think that’s a great way to support those businesses.
Which ones are your favorites?
You’re right, but the best of them are below 86th St.
