A popular food festival is returning to the Upper West Side this May with a variety of changes.
Taste of the West Side, previously dubbed Taste of the Upper West Side, will take place on May 30th and 31st at the Louis Brandeis Campus at 145 West 84th Street. This year’s event, which didn’t take place last year, will be the 15th rendition of the festival that brings together restaurants throughout the neighborhood.
While the Upper West Side festival is still almost two months away, tickets went on sale Monday, including an “early-bird” special deal that gets you 15 percent off through April 1. You can check out the tickets here, which currently range from $106 to $148.
In terms of other changes, the event will no longer be hosted by the Columbus Avenue Business Improvement District. The new sponsors and hosts are the New York Post and the charity Lifeforce in Later Years.

Would it be churlish of me to not want to attend because it’s now sponsored by the NYP?
Yes because it’s also sponsored by a very worthy charity – and I hate the Post!
Is the Columbus Avenue BID under Nicole Paynter too busy pushing the anti-car agenda with things like Open Streets and Smart Curbs to continue to put together Taste UWS? I remember under Barbara Adler when this was the main event the Columbus Avenue BID put together and here they ended their sponsorship and organizing of this event.
Has anyone been to this in the past? Seems like it would be either great or a total waste of money…
