Attend the JCC’s Annual Symposium on Positive Aging Nov 11!

The Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan’s Annual Symposium on Positive Aging will take place on Monday, November 11 from 10 am-3 pm. The signature event of JCC‘s Wechsler Center for Modern Aging, this hybrid virtual/in-person symposium will feature Lifetime Achievement Emmy Award-winning journalist Lesley Stahl in conversation with renowned journalist and author Abigail Pogrebin.

The Symposium aims to inspire older adults to live their lives to the fullest and pursue the years ahead with purpose, meaning, and fulfillment. The day will include a diverse slate of activities including, a movement segment, lunch, and informative and stimulating afternoon breakout sessions covering an array of thought-provoking topics designed to educate and inspire.

Workshop offerings include:

  • The Other Significant Others: Reimagining Life with Friendship at the Center, presented by Rhaina Cohen, award-winning producer and editor for NPR.
  • Family Relationships: Challenges that Emerge in Everyday Life – Marriage, In-Laws, Grandchildren, Illness + Death, with Rabbi Jeremy Kalmanofsky, Congregation Anche Chesed
  • Navigate the Complexities of Aging with Confidence and Grace, presented by Dr. Rosanne Leipzig, MD, PhD an internationally recognized expert in geriatric medicine, a Professor of Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and a practicing clinician.
  • AI’s Evolving Impact on Consumer Scams: How to Spot One and What to Do About it, hosted by Claire Rosenzweig, CAE, President & CEO, Better Business Bureau of Metropolitan New York
  • Finding and Embracing Joy as Older Adults with Jane Seskin, LCSW, Author and Psychotherapist
