Local Small Business Clean Bowl Club NYC Offers Nutritious, Fresh Food for Pupper West Siders

Clean Bowl Club NYC specializes in high-quality, nutrient-dense dog food and treats

For dog-owning Upper West Siders, Black Lab Cafe has quickly become a sensational new addition to the neighborhood. Owners and brothers, Nik and Kris Powers, established Black Lab Cafe after recognizing there was a dearth of dog-friendly institutions where locals could gather, socialize, and work alongside their beloved canine companions.

The cafe dishes out homemade pup-approved pastries like pumpkin pupcakes and peanut butter honey bones as well as coffee, juices, sandwiches and more for their parents. With the same entrepreneurial and innovative spirit, Nik and Kris have expanded their mission to provide healthy and happy lives to all dogs by establishing a family-owned, fresh dog food brand, Clean Bowl Club NYC. Clean Bowl Club NYC specializes in high-quality, nutrient-dense dog food and treats with a commitment to delivering long-term health and happiness to dogs and their owners.

Black Lab Cafe namesakes Daisy and Lola

The initial concept for Clean Bowl Club was based on the brothers’ own genuine passion and experiences providing their beloved black labs – Daisy, 7 years old, and Lola, 2 years old – with everything they would need to live long, happy lives. During the pandemic, Nik and Kris questioned the nutrition Daisy was receiving from her diet of heavily processed kibble. As they began researching alternatives and developing their own recipes, they quickly saw the tremendous benefits of a fresh food diet. Daisy’s coat became glossier, her energy increased, and her dental hygiene improved. With close consultation and support from veterinarians and canine nutrition experts, the brothers fine-tuned their fresh dog food recipes to ensure Daisy was enjoying wholesome, nutritious meals and receiving needed vitamins and minerals from whole, unprocessed food sources.

“We’ve always maintained the philosophy that getting vitamins and minerals from real, natural foods is the best way to get it rather than using a multivitamin powder,” said Kris Powers. “If you eat a bunch of empty calories and then take a multivitamin, that’s not good nutrition, and that’s what most kibble is.” Before long, Nik and Kris decided it was time to establish a business and scale their recipes in order to serve a much larger community of dogs and owners who were eager to subscribe to Clean Bowl Club NYC.

Clean Bowl Club NYC clients attest to the quality and freshness of the food, not to mention how happy it has made their best friends. “Whenever I tell Niles it’s time to eat, he jumps for joy,” says Upper West Sider and client Arianna Likouris. “I’ve told my friends about Clean Bowl Club NYC and I would totally recommend it. You can just tell it’s so fresh and I think the price is very comparable to other brands and worth every penny.”

With a choice of beef, chicken, or turkey recipes, Clean Bowl Club NYC clients can choose protein sources that best suit their pup’s preference and owners can also vary their dog’s diet regularly to ensure pups are enjoying multiple sources of high-quality proteins, vegetables, and seeds. Clean Bowl Club NYC has also produced their own line of gourmet, hand-made treats which can be purchased on their Amazon shop page as well as inside Black Lab Cafe.

“Leo eats the beef recipes and he seems fitter and his energy levels have improved since the diet change,” says Upper West Sider and client Freya Azad. “His fur in shinier and he just seems to be healthier overall. I want him to live a long and healthy life.” In addition to all of health benefits they have seen, Freya and Leo have appreciated Clean Bowl Club NYC’s commitment to top-notch customer service for their clients. “Clean Bowl Club is a young company and they have been very accommodating and communicative when it comes to scheduling Leo’s food deliveries,” Freya said. “You feel like you get personalized support and I love supporting a local small business.”
