Early Tuesday morning, November 8th, Election Day, there will be a total lunar eclipse visible in the U.S. and elsewhere in North, Central, and South America, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, which will turn the moon red.
NASA offers a scientific explanation for the lunar hue. “A lunar eclipse occurs when the Sun, Earth, and Moon align so that the Moon passes into Earth’s shadow…. During a lunar eclipse, the Moon turns red because the only sunlight reaching the Moon passes through Earth’s atmosphere,” the space agency explained. “The more dust or clouds in Earth’s atmosphere during the eclipse, the redder the Moon will appear. It’s as if all the world’s sunrises and sunsets are projected onto the Moon.”
Below is NASA’s timetable for viewing the lunar eclipse. “It is the first total lunar eclipse [to fall] on a regular Tuesday Election Day in U.S. history,” according to EarthSky. “And… it won’t happen again until November 8, 2394.” The next total lunar eclipse will occur in three years on March 14, 2025.
Nahhh, NOT due to a lunar eclipse!
Moon is red with EMBARRASSMENT and SHOCK at how the U.S. is turning itself inside-out over the never-ending political TURMOIL in this country !!
