NYPD at shooting scene on W. 103rd and Amsterdam

By Joy Bergmann

Multiple gunshots rang out around 2:22 p.m. Tuesday afternoon along West 103rd Street between Amsterdam Avenue and Broadway, NYPD’s 24th Precinct commanding officer Deputy Inspector Naoki Yaguchi told WSR at the scene.

Contrary to initial reports on the Citizen app, no one has been reported shot due this incident, Yaguchi said, noting that a hospital canvas is underway for any victims.

As of 4:00 p.m., NYPD officers were surveying the area for video footage and collecting shell casings from what was believed to be a handgun, Yaguchi said.

An NYPD spokesperson did not have any further information on the shooter; the investigation is ongoing.
