The U.S. is facing a blood donation shortage and one local institution is hoping to help replenish the supply. Lincoln Center is holding a blood drive on Thursday from 12:30-6:30 with the New York Blood Center at the David Rubenstein Atrium, 61 West 62nd Street.
Blood donations are down around the country because Covid-19 has slowed events that usually help raise supplies. “In New York alone, high schools and colleges account for 75,000 donations each school year,” ABC reported.
Info on the event is below and in a flyer here:
This Thursday, we’re working with the New York Blood Center to bring a community blood drive to Lincoln Center‘s David Rubenstein Atrium. There are still several slots available, and we’re hoping more Upper West Siders will participate to help NYC fill an urgent need for healthy blood donors. To schedule an appointment to donate, those interested must visit nybc.org/lincolncenter to pre-register.
