4-Year-Old’s Note Reminds Santa About Coronavirus Restrictions

Among children, there is considerable anxiety about whether Santa Claus will be allowed to come by this Christmas, given coronavirus restrictions. One 4-year-old Upper West Sider named Isabelle wrote a note to Santa telling him he’s welcome but that he has to follow certain rules.

She also wanted to make sure that Santa doesn’t raid the fridge. Santa is a plump fellow and his local Costco ran out of goodies early in the pandemic.

Dr. Fauci also recently answered children’s questions about whether Santa will be able to give out presents this year.

Santa Claus will be coming to town this year, Dr. Anthony Fauci says.

“I took care of that for you,” he says. “…I took a trip up there to the North Pole; I went there and I vaccinated Santa Claus myself. I measured his level of immunity, and he is good to go.” #CNNSesameStreet pic.twitter.com/CNJ520XTew

Another little Upper West Side girl is famous for writing a letter about Santa.

In 1897, eight-year-old Virginia O’Hanlon of 115 West 95th Street wrote a letter to The Sun newspaper asking if there is a Santa Claus. The answer to that letter became a famous column, “Yes Virginia There is a Santa Claus.”

our friend Santa is obviously up-to-date on COVID restrictions worldwide, its part of his job…and unlike many of us in this country, he thinks critically and takes these precautions seriously!

The kids should have nothing to worry about.

Thank you Isabelle for your loving notes to Santa. Sounds like you want to keep him safe and your family too. It helps remind us big folks that little kids have this kind of stuff on their minds too – the virus, food insecurity, etc.
Thanks for wearing your mask all day in school. Not easy. I hope Santa is good to you. He should be – those are very nice notes.
