A 16-year-old boy was attacked and robbed by three people on the stairway heading into the B-C train station at Central Park West and 86th Street on Monday, police said.
The mugging occurred around 3:30 p.m. The victim was walking down the stairs when three people came up to him and “began pulling on his backpack and punching him,” according to police. “As a result of this encounter, the victim dropped his Apple iPhone 11, which was picked up and retained by one of the individuals. Another one of the male individuals struck the victim in the back of the head with a closed fist before removing his backpack and jacket. The three individuals then fled the location, on foot, heading east bound on West 86 Street. The victim was removed to NY Presbyterian Cornell Medical Center, where he was treated and released.”
