Taste of the Upper West Side Bubbles and Sparkles Both Nights

Taste of the Upper West Side, the Columbus Avenue Business Improvement District’s annual fundraiser, now in its 12th year, is introducing “Bubbly Friday” and “Sparkling Saturday” as a salute to summer-friendly wines. Among the specially-curated effervescent selections will be Bottega Spa, Lunetta, and Valdo.

“Sparkling wines symbolize celebration, which is what this wonderful event is all about,” says Barbara Adler, Executive Director of the Columbus Avenue BID. “Wines also add to the enjoyment of food and with over 80 participating restaurants serving extraordinary fare, there will be plenty of opportunities for tasting, toasting, and sipping.”

In addition to vibrant sparkling wines, more than 21 red, white and rosé wines from around the world are being poured both nights. And for dedicated spirit-lovers, mixologists from nine restaurants and bars on the Upper West Side and Harlem have created signature, one-of-a-kind cocktails. Beer enthusiasts will also stay refreshed with a choice of global brews that include Asahi, Corona Premier, Corona Refresca, Heineken, Strongbow, and Tiger. Plus, liquor sponsors Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Rums of Puerto Rico and White Claw Hard Seltzer will showcase their own Taste UWS cocktail creations.

Taste UWS introduces, literally, thousands of people to local restaurants each year. In addition to helping support neighborhood businesses in a festive and fun setting, each ticket purchased contributes to local charities and educational programs. This year’s Honoree is West Side Campaign Against Hunger (WSCAH), a non-profit organization rooted in the community for more than four decades. The acclaimed food pantry is recognized for its “supermarket-style” model, providing fresh vegetables, fruits and proteins to the community, free of charge. Beyond a sustenance-with-dignity credo, WSCAH offers many complimentary social services, along with culinary training and nutritional guidance. At TasteUWS, the group will serve tastings prepared by students of its “Culinary Pathways” program, as it has for several years.

Don’t miss out on this exciting event May 17 and 18 – GET YOUR TICKETS NOW! Use code “bubbly15” at checkout to receive 15% off tickets.
