A dog run below the highway in Riverside Park will be closed for several weeks as the city completes a construction project nearby.

The large section of the dog run is expected to be closed until May 24, while the small-dog area is set to reopen on May 6. In the meantime, people can still use the dog run on the street level in Riverside Park near 72nd Street.

Too little too late. For weeks, the dogs and their owners were inhaling an acrid, glue-like odor that could not have been healthy. But still they came. Anything for Fido, I guess.

Thanks for the info! There were no signs anywhere when the dog runs would reopen. Can’t wait for the small dog run to reopen.
