Raising socially conscious children is about helping kids at every age to be socially aware, empathetic, and educated; it’s about empowering them to be dependable friends, compassionate leaders, and involved members of their community – and it takes a village to make that a reality.

At the 2nd Annual Democracy Sunday: Symposium on Raising Socially Conscious Children, experts will offer inspiration and tangible tools to help parents and children find and use our voices, knowing that we each have the ability and obligation to make our world better. Conversations with fellow parents will help you know you’re not alone on this journey.

The Kids’ Track is sponsored by Camp Settoga and features thematic, hands-on activities for children in Nursery School through 8th grade. Babysitting available for 2 + 3 year olds. Please register children separately in their age-appropriate section.

Sunday, March 10, 2-5 pm
$10 for JCC members/$15 public

Please limit comments to 150 words and keep them civil and relevant to the article at hand. Comments are closed after six days. Our primary goal is to create a safe and respectful space where a broad spectrum of voices can be heard. We welcome diverse viewpoints and encourage readers to engage critically with one another’s ideas, but never at the expense of civility. Disagreement is expected—even encouraged—but it must be expressed with care and consideration. Comments that take cheap shots, escalate conflict, or veer into ideological warfare detract from the constructive spirit we aim to cultivate.
