The New Year is here! Maine Camp Experience (MCE), a community of 30+ premier camps and comprehensive camp-planning resource, shares that now’s the perfect time for parents to research and enroll their children at summer camp for 2019 for best availability of desired camp, session dates and age groups.
MCE camps are located throughout Maine and provide incredible natural beauty, strong traditions, and top-notch staff, activities, and facilities. Kids unplug from their tech devices and connect with nature, make new friends, have fun, learn new skills, enjoy exciting activities, and gain confidence and independence at Maine overnight camps, “the gold standard.”
The camps, each set on a beautiful natural lake, are for kids ages 7-17. Camps are single-gender or coed. Sessions range from 1-8 weeks.
MCE camps offer daily waterfront activity, land sports, arts, nature, outdoor adventures, fun camp traditions, and memorable trips to places like Boothbay Harbor and Acadia National Park.
Parents also get to enjoy Maine (a.k.a. “Vacationland”) when they come for Visiting Day or pre-/post-camp trips.
Benefits of MCE Camps include scenic environs, a temperate climate, and great geographic diversity of campers. Maine is easy to get to (campers arrive by car, bus, or plane) and is well worth the trip!
Another important highlight of the Maine Camp Experience is social action. All of the camps engage campers in initiatives that teach them to give back such as helping to fight pediatric cancer and raising money for kids in need.
Maine has the greatest number of the oldest, most established camps in the country. Many of these camps have been open for more than 100 years and each summer more than 20,000 kids spend time at camp in Maine.
Maine Camp Experience offers free CampciergeTM service – personalized guidance to help families decide which camp is best. Laurie, the Campcierge™, can help facilitate home visits between directors and prospective camp families for those interested in camp for this summer, and also helps arrange trips and preview tours for families who want to tour in 2019 before their children would attend camp in 2020.
