It’s Marathon weekend, and the Upper West Side will be very busy for the next few days.

On Friday night, fireworks will go off around 6:25 p.m. at Cherry Hill in the park.

On Saturday, there’s a “Dash to the Finish” 5K race will end in Central Park, so Center Drive and parts of West Drive will be closed.

On Sunday, Marathon Day, there will be lots of street closures and the neighborhood will be packed, particularly in the West 60’s and 70’s. The finish line near 67th Street in Central Park is a great spot to watch the race and cheer on the runners.

The following streets are listed as closed by NYPD.

It would be nice to know when pedestrians can or can’t access the park on race day. Lots of dog walkers were turned away early this morning as the race organizers and security guards didn’t know what entrances would be open or when.
