So good to hear. Dementia is terrible…hard for the person with it and difficult on their loved ones.

Luckily this man has been found. I thought I had seen him Friday evening at 7:10pm and just found this notice. I called 24th precinct and the detective handling the missing case said he had been found. Glad to hear it!

I’m very, very happy that the gentleman was found.

I’m troubled by the fact that the announcement did not disclose that the home from which he absconded was the Atria West 86th Street assisted living facility. Isn’t one of their primary services supposed to be security of family members, especially those with dementia? How on earth did they let him out??

Other than the Twitt copied above, you’d never know from the article, or from the “Missing” notice, that he should have been receiving better care and more attention than he did. Sure is a good thing for Atria’s business that somehow no one thought to mention that!
