Firefighters put out a fire in a first floor apartment at 41 West 82nd Street between Columbus and Central Park West within about 15 minutes Tuesday afternoon. Police blocked the street during the incident. No injuries were reported and it was not immediately clear what sparked the blaze.
The firefighters needed a ladder to enter the building from the roof, even though it was on the first floor.
If the fire was on the first floor, I would think it more expedient to break down the first floor door?
I’m sure they flipped a coin. Heads was for the 1st floor and tails was the roof.
Why not let the pros do their jobs and not second guess their tactics?
