BALLOONS GO MARCHING ONE BY ONE…

Ted captured the parade of balloons in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade on Thursday from 81st Street and Central Park West.

Thanks to our eagle-eyed commenters, we’ve replaced the original photo with one Ted actually took on Thursday (he told us he accidentally sent the older photo). The original photo he sent is below:

And Jeff Segall used a composite of 24 photos to capture the balloon inflation on Wednesday.

The first picture must be from another year. There was no Virginia or Snoopy balloon this year 🙂

I think that top photo is an old photo….I believe that is snoopy in the lower left corner. There was no snoopy balloon in the parade this year

It’s still a gorgeous photo though. Very surreal with the skyline as the backdrop and the Pillsbury Dough Boy leading the trip down CPW.

Hmm, kind of disappointing that the text from WSR makes it sound like the photos are from this year as it says:
“Ted captured the parade of balloons in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade on Thursday from 81st Street and Central Park West.”
Exactly when did Ted (if that’s his real name) capture the parade of balloons??

Great photo but definitely 2015. Even the skyline is different now.

Why are the parade stands along Central Park West from 67th St to 77th St up for so long? They started going up on Nov 8 and are now still fully up over 3 weeks later on Nov 28. They completely block the sidewalk. It seems absurd that they are up for so long and it is very inconvenient for people in the neighborhood.

Maybe they’re getting a head start for next year’s parade.
