In just two short years, BASIS Independent Brooklyn, a private school serving grades preschool through 12, has captured the attention of families across New York City with its world-acclaimed liberal arts and sciences program. Now families in Manhattan are able to apply to a new sister campus on the Upper West Side. BASIS Independent Manhattan will serve grades K-8 at 795 Columbus Avenue, opening fall 2017.

BASIS Independent Manhattan, the fifth school in the BASIS Independent Schools system, after Brooklyn, Silicon Valley, CA, Fremont, CA, and McLean, VA, will use the identical elementary and middle school academic programs as BASIS Independent Brooklyn, which has been lauded for offering Mandarin and engineering classes from kindergarten; for its hands-on, project-based “Connections” class linking the arts, science, math, and humanities; and for its vibrant array of fine, visual, and performing arts and music coursework.

BASIS.ed-managed schools have three key elements that fuel their tradition of topping the list of the best schools in the world:

  1. Subject expert teachers in every grade level – professionals with expertise and experience in the subjects they teach, coupled with a learning expert teacher in the early primary grades who ensures that high-level content is delivered and mastered in a developmentally appropriate context.
  2. A liberal arts and science curriculum designed to set a new global standard in education.
  3. A culture of support and robust extracurricular offerings encourage students to be participants, not spectators, in their lives as they discover their passions in an environment they feel safe to explore.

BASIS Independent Manhattan is accepting applications for grades K-8 for fall 2017.

Join an event on Wednesday, August 24th at 6:30 PM for an opportunity to meet co-founder, Dr. Michael K. Block. Limited seats available. Register at basisindependent.com/nyc.
