Bard Graduate Center on 86th street is hosting a special conversation this Sunday with a groundbreaking conductor.
Esa-Pekka Salonen, acclaimed Finnish conductor and Marie-Josée Kravis Composer-in-Residence at the New York Philharmonic, will join Justin Davidson, Pulitzer Prize-winning classical music and architecture critic for New York magazine, for an intimate afternoon conversation about his upbringing in Finland and how it has influenced his musical development and creative process.
This conversation is presented in conjunction with Bard Graduate Center Gallery’s spring exhibition Artek and the Aaltos: Creating a Modern World, which focuses on the pioneering Finnish design company Artek and its architect co-founders Alvar Aalto and Aino Marsio-Aalto. The exhibition is on view until September 25, 2016.
