conservatory camp

The City Conservatory’s Performing Arts Summer Camp for 3-to-4-year-olds offers children a half-day of dance, music and theater. While exploring weekly themes such as The Magic Flute, Swan Lake and Alice in Wonderland, students will learn the fundamentals of ballet-based creative movement; the foundations of musicology, ear training and vocal technique inspired by the Kodaly method; and theater games that build imagination and confidence.

With its unique, integrated curriculum, the conservatory’s teachers work together across disciplines throughout the day to give each child a broad appreciation for all aspects of the performing arts. The conservatory’s camp is dedicated to teaching young people:

As fellow parents, we know how important it is to ensure that our children are in the best hands. At City Conservatory, our teachers love to teach and are themselves the highest-caliber performing artists. Our teachers dance at the Metropolitan Opera, sing on stage at Carnegie Hall and perform on Broadway. Our program is creative and explorative, where your children will not only learn skills while having fun, but will be a part of the creative process, as each week will culminate in a mini-recital. Our students emerge with an integrated and wide-ranging arts education all from one school, where they can discover new talents they never knew they had. Our goal is to ignite a passion for the performing arts in our students. Open the door to the world of the performing arts for your child and let us be the place where your young artist grows.

Our primary goal is to create a safe and respectful space where a broad spectrum of voices can be heard. We welcome diverse viewpoints and encourage readers to engage critically with one another’s ideas, but never at the expense of civility. Disagreement is expected—even encouraged—but it must be expressed with care and consideration. Comments that take cheap shots, escalate conflict, or veer into ideological warfare detract from the constructive spirit we aim to cultivate.
