PHOTO OP: HOW MUCH IS THAT PEACOCK IN THE WINDOW?

It’s not very often that you’ll find a peacock in a storefront window on a busy street like Columbus Avenue between 87th and 88th street. But Jim the peacock was holding court there inside the front window of the Center for Avian and Exotic Medicine on Thursday as he waited for an enclosure to be constructed at his normal home on the grounds of the Cathedral of St. John the Divine. Thanks to Katherine Weber for the photos.

By the way, the center, which sustained a devastating flood in February, raised more than $34,000 and has been able to hold appointments and use most of its upstairs area. “It will be many months until we are back to 100%- but we will update you as we progress.”

Then there’s always this play on the old ‘Is that a gun in your pocket or are you happy to see me?”…

Is that a peacock in your window or did you run out of puppies?

🙂
