Photographer extraordinaire Scott Matthews has taken some stunning pictures this year from his apartment on 106th street and Broadway. The lines in the second one are from planes taking off and landing at LaGuardia Airport.

I too love to take pictures of the Upper West Side. Great photos, Scott.
Thank you, Mr Matthews, for the pleasure of seeing images of our town that I, for one, wouldn’t get to see.
Fantastic photos! Just amazing..
Thank you so much for these beautiful pictures. I have a question. In the third picture: Is that the 108th Street side of P.S. 165? I spent 7 years of my young life in that school.
Carol, that’s right, that may be the roof of my building across from the school. I also attended PS 165 for a few years before transferring to Ascension on 108th. Came back to the ‘hood a few years ago.
Miriam–Thank you. Did you live on 108th Street? My building was at 229 West 109 St., exactly across the street from the school. The school is a beautiful piece of architecture. Most of the kids on my block went to Ascension. That was a long time ago.
Very nice. Thanks for the view.
Once again a personal and beautiful cityscape.ira
