Casting directors put up posters on the Upper West Side seeking a little blue-eyed curly-haired boy to play a younger version of Jesse Eisenberg’s character in a movie called Louder Than Bombs set for release next year. No acting experience necessary!
For the uninitiated, Jesse Eisenberg is the highly verbal quirky actor who so famously channeled Mark Zuckerberg in The Social Network.
The poster above was spotted outside the old Lincoln Square synagogue, on 69th and Amsterdam by Mark Harris. As my grandmother would say “Just look at that punim!”
This looks very very fishy. What reputable talent agency/production company would cast like this?
If you are looking for a very Jewish looking kid, the UWS is a target-rich environment.

It is legit! It is actually from a very established casting office who apparently hired an intern who doesn’t know how to use tape. Note to westsider, it is the casting directors who posted, not producers.
Isn’t it odd that a “very established casting office” would use a free email service? Can’t they spring for “real” email addresses?
Yes and no — the disposable email means that once this assignment is done, they won’t be inundated with additional unsolicited resumes — other than the millions they probably already get.
