Moving tends to be one of life’s more stressful events, and my family’s move a few weeks ago was no exception. Just finding a new place on the Upper West Side in a fast-rising market was shockingly difficult. The one efficient part of the process, however, was the move itself.
FlatRate Moving transferred our stuff quickly, and even helped us finish packing (Yes, I’m a world-class procrastinator and still had books, dishware and knick-knacks scattered around on moving day). They were speedy but careful. While it took me 5 minutes just to put a box together, Vladimir, who led the group, could put one together in about 5 seconds, ripping the tape with just his thumbs.
With the fragile stuff, the FlatRate guys carefully wrapped everything in paper. They sent supervisors to the move to check up on how it was going and organized everything in our new apartment. And amazingly, the move actually went more quickly than I’d anticipated.
Of course, now comes the other hard part — unpacking.
