Spring is here and Upper West Siders burst out of their houses on Saturday like it was a jailbreak. Here are some signs we’ve put the nasty winter behind us.
The sidewalk cafe at Isabella’s is packed.
There are pigs in green sweaters taking naps in Central Park. Yes, really.
People are taking everything off, even their dentures. These were found on Broadway.
Sheep Meadow is shirtless and in love.
They just turned on the #BethesdaFountain in #CentralPark ! #Spring had officially arrived in #NYC @CentralParkNYC pic.twitter.com/Vp22jcMBEr

Bethesda Fountain has been turned on again.
The tree beds on Riverside Drive are blooming.
Love this!! I’m forwarding it to my family who will be visiting next month. 🙂
I love seeing all the beautiful flowers in the tree beds around the UWS. What truly saddens me though is the fact that so many dog owners don’t appreciate the time, energy, effort and money spent by these volunteers to add a little beauty and nature to an otherwise concrete jungle.
So many dog owners on the UWS think that these beds are litter boxes for their dogs. I can’t tell you how many times, while walking on the UWS, I have seen dog owners encourage their dogs to jump into these boxes or lift their animals into these boxes to do their pooping. Of course, the owners don’t clean up the mess. God help you if you dare to say anything. These people will curse you to no end.
Great pic of The Sheep Meadow in Central Park!
But WAIT! What are those things at the top of the frame??
OMG!! They’re TALL BUILDINGS! PROBABLY FOR WEALTHY PEOPLE!!
And, if left standing, they will DESTROY Central Park, as one commenter posted last week (” You can’t even go to Central Park because that too will be overshadowed by really tall buildings that cast a pall on the beauty and restfulness of the park.”
Yup, so the wealthy are destroying our park! GUESS THAT’S WHY THE PARK IS SO CROWDED IN THE PIC!
