Typhoon Haiyan destroyed the lives of thousands of people in the Philippines and now Upper West Siders are coming together to support them. On Tuesday from 7-11 at the Parlour on 86th street, political bigwigs including Jerry Nadler, Scott Stringer and Linda Rosenthal will help raise money for organizations helping victims. Via Rosenthal:

“All funds raised will be donated to one of the following charities doing work on the ground in the Philippines: International Rescue Committee, Doctors without Borders or Catholic Relief Services.  During a silent auction, attendees will be able to bid on goods and services generously donated by local businesses and artisans; each person will be provided with one free drink compliments of The Parlour and will be treated to musical performances by local bands The Breakup Artists and The Jump Kings.  For more information, to RSVP or make a donation, please contact 212.873.6368 or TyphoonHaiyanBenefit@gmail.com.”
