Sometimes you want a healthy drink and sometimes you want a make-me-forget-everything drink. Two new spots on the Upper West Side will help fill those needs.
Green Generation nyc put a grand opening sign out front a couple of weeks ago on Broadway between 92nd and 93rd street, the former home of Platinum Real Estate. But amanager said they’re still waiting on a city permit to open. When they do, it will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and serve juices and sandwiches. Thanks to Ken and Linda for the photos.
Manhattan Cricket Club is a cocktail bar on the second floor of new restaurant Burke & Willis at 226 West 79th street, the former home of Sunburnt Calf. “Cricket Clubs” in Australia are members-only bars.
“At home in Australia, cricket clubs are exclusive member’s only societies. Newborn babies are placed on the membership waitlist! I didn’t get my invitation for the Melbourne Cricket Club for over 20 years,” says Owner Tim Harris.
Luckily, the Manhattan Cricket Club is open to everyone. Drinks are named after different countries, including the Australia (Mezcal, Ginger lemongrass soda, fresh lime) and Sri Lanaka (Fleur de Cana rum, Garam Masala infusion, passion fruit, lemon juice). You can also get small plates, including oysters and lobster sliders, according to a release we received. It’s cash only and it’s open until 2 a.m.
