Banksy has finally graced our neighborhood with some of his graffiti art! The British artist, who is spending a month putting up art in New York, has painted his most recent piece on 79th street off of Broadway, on the south side of the DSW store.
Sadly, many of Banksy’s pieces have been tagged and painted over since he started on this project a couple of weeks ago. If you see this piece, take a picture of the art and the scene around it and send it to us!
We’ll update this post with more photos as we receive them.

Thanks! UN-tagged, too. A rare sight, but somebody needs to corral that kid…
FYI, a few guys from Zabar’s came over last night and covered the piece with Plexiglas, so looks like this one won’t be defaced. Here’s a pic I took:

Turns out it was defaced, over the plexiglass, fortunately, in red paint. Saw it on the news this morning.
Well yeah, it was kind of a given that someone would tag the plastic sheet. Will be interesting to see what happens next – would be nice if the plastic just stays in place and is occasionally cleaned to remove cover-up tags.
