PARENTS MAGICALLY REACH EXTENDED FAMILY TO SAVE TIME, MONEY (SPONSORED)

Glad2, a new free service for all smartphones and computers, helps parents magically reach their trusted “extended family” for babysitting, playdates, sharing stuff, recommendations, rides, and emergencies.

“I have a great group of friends, neighbors, sitters, and others that I can contact for help when I need it, but I don’t have time to make a dozen individual calls,” says Carrie Jemley, a media buyer in Seattle.  “With Glad2.com, in 10 seconds, my entire network of helpers I choose —and only them — sees what I need and offer me a hand. It has been a huge stress-reliever for me.”

Gone are the days of back-and-forth texting, facebook messages, emails, and voicemail.  Glad2 members simply type or speak a request in plain English, for example, “I need a babysitter Friday at 6:30,” or “Who wants a playdate Saturday at 1:30?”  Glad2 handles all the communication, while you’re free to go about your day.  Just choose the offer you want from everyone who replies.

“When I need something for my family, it’s about reaching the people I know and trust – my babysitters, nannies, family, friends, neighbors, other parents at school, church, or temple.  Those people are not my Facebook friends.  And I want something fast, not a conversation.  That’s why I love Glad2.  I save time and money.  One week, a friend can pick up my daughter for me at school.  The next week, I can recommend a violin teacher or a good place for a birthday party, or even an assisted living place for their parents to them.  It’s win-win,” says Jemley.

In addition to childcare, families are arranging rides with Glad2.  They’re sharing everything from children’s books to video games to tools to sports gear, plus recommendations for doctors, camps, schools, tutors, activities, and music teachers from the people they know and trust. They can even get help from extended family in emergencies.

Registration for Glad2 is free, fast, and easy. Members can invite people to their Parent Network by email, Facebook, or searching school, team, club, and class groups.

“It really does take a village to raise kids,” says Fred Jacobs, parent of a 9-year-old girl.  “Glad2 makes it so easy.  I saved $80 in cab fare last month, when my friend drove us to the airport.  To help her out in return, we’re taking her son for a playdate while she goes for a night out. She’s saving $100 on a sitter.  I cannot imagine life without Glad2.”
