West Side Rag reader Carla Fisher took the video below of bagpipes belting out “Amazing Grace” Wednesday morning the annual commemoration of New York City firefighters who have died in the line of duty. The event is held at the Firemen’s Memorial on 100th street and Riverside Drive. (The sound is loud so you may want to turn down your speakers.)

And hours after the ceremony broke up, firefighters in uniform could be seen drinking on the street, outside bars on Broadway. Is drinking in uniform allowed? Is drinking on the street OK for everyone or just firefighters?
