REDFARM POSTS JOBS NOTICE, EXPECTS SEPTEMBER OPENING

RedFarm, the Chinese restaurant moving into Fatty Crab’s old spot on Broadway between 77th and 78th, is getting closer to opening, and they’re now looking for waitstaff.

RedFarm has caused quite a buzz among local foodies. Its downtown location is so popular it draws huge lines, says the New York Times:

“For sensations like this, people have stood in line, and stood and stood, since the restaurant opened last August. RedFarm belongs to that post-Momofuku generation of restaurants made possible by the discovery that people will wait in line, open their wallets and put up with a reasonable amount of discomfort if the cooking consistently vaults above usual levels of intensity. No reservations are taken, except for large parties.”

Zagat had said in June that it was likely to open in July, but that timeline has proven optimistic. It now looks like the resataurant will open in mid-September, according to a rep for the company. In the meantime, the restaurant has been posting the notice below on the menus at its West Village location (click to enlarge). Read more about RedFarm here.
