From 7 to 9 a.m., coffee is free of charge at Irving Farm on 79th Street between Broadway and Amsterdam, Irving Farm said on Tuesday. Not a bad way to start the day.

Best way to find little coffee shops: search not for “coffee shop” but just for “coffee” using Google maps, especially on a smart phone with GPS. Various coffee shop apps miss half of them.
