December 21, 2012 Weather: Partly Cloudy/Windy, High of 48 Degrees.

Notices:
Free concerts at Juilliard and the Folk Art Museum and more today on our calendar. That is, if the world doesn’t end.

Saw this notice on Craigslist via EveryBlock: “Stolen: Green Cannondale r600 Roadbike: On 12/19, someone stole 2 bikes from me (one was returned by a good samaritan). The missing bike is a Green Cannondale r600 Roadbike. Thief was seen selling the bikes around 96th and Broadway. If you have any information about the bike please let me know.”

News:
A supposed typo (or “scrivener’s error”) on a contract for luxury condos at The Rushmore on Riverside Boulevard led to the condo owners getting $15 million back. Always double-check important documents! (The Real Deal)

What it’s like to move from the Upper East Side to the Upper West Side: “Overall, the Upper West Side does feel a little more down to earth and less uppity than the Upper East Side.” (Brick Underground)

The late ambassador Richard Holbrooke’s apartment in the Beresford just sold for $11 million. “The new owners, one of whom was finance chairman of the Democratic National Committee from 1995 to 1997, will have big party-throwing shoes to fill, as Holbrooke and Marton were known to host star-studded dinners during their time in #8G, which contains a 516-square-foot living room and a 360-square-foot dining room.” (Curbed)

Below, check out a video about the “trash trees” at the Church of St. Paul and St. Andrew on 86th Street.

    1. K- Great idea! Are you related to Joseph K (Kafka?) Just kidding. I’m a Union Grad. My daughters have attended worship with you. My wife Mary is also a pastor, and stayed in your church with her youth group a couple of summers ago. Gayletha Nichols is my wife’s program director’s sister.
