TOM CRUISE, SOPRANOS CREATOR DAVID CHASE COMING TO NEIGHBORHOOD ON THE SAME DAY

Consider it a Mission Impossible. Or impossible mission?

Two movie and TV legends are stopping by the neighborhood next Monday, meaning you can only see one of them.

What will you do?

Tom Cruise will stop by the Film Society of Lincoln Center on December 17 at 7 p.m. for a special screening of hi snew film Jack Reacher. The Film Society is hosting a retrospective of his films all that week (yes, even Top Gun). As we know, a Tom Cruise appearance can lead to all sorts of surprises — although it’s not clear if there will be a couch on the stage that he can jump on. Tickets here.

David Chase, creator of the Sopranos, heads to Symphony Space on December 17 at 8 p.m. to discuss his new film Not Fade Away. It’s about, you guessed it…New Jersey! But this one’s about musicians, not gangsters. Tickets here.

Please limit comments to 150 words and keep them civil and relevant to the article at hand. Comments are closed after six days. Our primary goal is to create a safe and respectful space where a broad spectrum of voices can be heard. We welcome diverse viewpoints and encourage readers to engage critically with one another’s ideas, but never at the expense of civility. Disagreement is expected—even encouraged—but it must be expressed with care and consideration. Comments that take cheap shots, escalate conflict, or veer into ideological warfare detract from the constructive spirit we aim to cultivate.
