OPENINGS UPDATE: CASA POMONA, LE SPORTSAC

We’ve got some new information about two new businesses we’ve been writing about in the past few weeks:

Le Sportsac: The bags and accessories shop (that is not French!) opened today on Columbus Avenue between 71st and 72nd Streets in the former home of Betsey Johnson.

Casa Pomona: The Spanish restaurant at 507 Columbus Avenue near 85th Street has finally nailed down an opening date: December 6 — and released its menu, which can be accessed here in or on the restaurunt’s website. Among the items: crispy suckling pig, oxtail-stuffed meatballs, and a special take on spaghetti squash.

Please limit comments to 150 words and keep them civil and relevant to the article at hand. Comments are closed after six days. Our primary goal is to create a safe and respectful space where a broad spectrum of voices can be heard. We welcome diverse viewpoints and encourage readers to engage critically with one another’s ideas, but never at the expense of civility. Disagreement is expected—even encouraged—but it must be expressed with care and consideration. Comments that take cheap shots, escalate conflict, or veer into ideological warfare detract from the constructive spirit we aim to cultivate.
