Cars waited in a line that stretched from 101st Street and West End Avenue to 96th Street and around the corner to get gas on Sunday afternoon around 2 p.m. The line stretched so far, that gas station attendants had to close it off to new cars around 2:30 p.m. because the station was running out of gas, our tipster, Gail Wein told us. It’s not clear if everyone in the line ended up getting filled up. Hurricane Sandy has led to gas shortages in the Northeast.
Update: We hear from a commenter that the police started turning people away at 2:30 and that people in line before that got gas.
