Notices:
Events today on the calendar include two free Lincoln Center concerts — one features Tuvan throat-singing, which must be heard to be believed.

The Community Board’s transportation committee is going to hold a hearing on the expansion of protected bike lanes on the Upper West Side tonight at 250 W. 87th Street at 7 p.m. (via Streetsblog) If anyone wants to cover this event for us, email info at westsiderag dot com.

There’s a middle school fair at P.S. 163 (163 West 97th Street between Amsterdam & Columbus Aves.) tonight at 5:30 to let parents learn about their choices.

News:
The doorman on duty at the 61st Street building where a pizza delivery boy allegedly raped a woman whose door was unlocked this weekend said that security there is too lax. Luis Rodriguez, the doorman who has since been suspended, said the building used to have a porter who would have accompanied the delivery boy, but that position was cut. A condo board president declined comment and Halstead Properties did not comment in time. (NY Daily News)

A portion of the Riverside-West End historic district got the green light yesterday from a City Council committee. Another committee will vote on the proposal today. (Landmark West)

Center Bar is opening on the fourth floor of the Time Warner Center today. “Now Michael Lomonaco, whose Porter House New York is a nearby magnet for diners, is trying his hand at the space, which he sees as a place for those who want less than a full steak-focused menu, or who may even be waiting for a table in his steakhouse.” (NY Times)

The headline and photo make you think that the Rape took place at the New Bar at the Time Warner Center which is actually a Newstand!

That’s a very interesting story but I don’t think it is correct.

Editor please.

Sorry for any confusion Chris, but the story does say that the rape occurred in an apartment building on 61st Street. We often include items in the morning bulletin that aren’t in any way related. Avi
