SPECTACULAR FIREWORKS PHOTOS

Macy’s recently said that its July 4 fireworks show is going to be moving to other waterways in coming years, after a great four-year run on the Hudson River. If yesterday’s extravaganza does turn out to be the last show on the Hudson for awhile, at least it was a good one. Check out some photos of the show below. Thanks to everyone who sent them in.

Strakey from a boat on the Hudson, where he proposed to his future wife on Wednesday. “On the 4th of July aboard the Schooner Adirondack, with the NYC skyline to the left, the Macy’s 4th of July fireworks to the front and a lightning storm to the rear, I got down on one knee and proposed to my girlfriend. Fortunately, she said yes!”

Our primary goal is to create a safe and respectful space where a broad spectrum of voices can be heard. We welcome diverse viewpoints and encourage readers to engage critically with one another’s ideas, but never at the expense of civility. Disagreement is expected—even encouraged—but it must be expressed with care and consideration. Comments that take cheap shots, escalate conflict, or veer into ideological warfare detract from the constructive spirit we aim to cultivate.
