A new upscale gastropub called Five Lamps Tavern is set to open on 106th Street and Broadway in the old space of Italian restaurant Meridiana — and it’s going to have a beer garden!
The restaurant is expected to have 75 seats in the beer garden, 90 inside and about 31 in a front patio, the owners say on their facebook page. Mark Harford, a partner at Amsterdam Ale House (on 106th and Amsterdam), is one of the owners. Five Lamps is expected to open next month.
We’ll update you as we learn more. Thanks to Sunny Naughton for the photo.
I went for their pre-opening last Friday. They weren’t quite ready (not serving food) and should have been offering drink discounts to make up for missing ingredients. It is a very noisy space inside once people get past the first drink. I liked the Brooklyn feel and would give them another try before moving on.
